CQ NEWS (CQ Hall of Fame Inductees Announced)
The following press release was sent out by Rich Moseson, W2VU, Editor of CQ Communications, Inc., on May 20th:

"CQ ANNOUNCES 2011 HALL OF FAME INDUCTEES -- CQ magazine today announced its 2011 Hall of Fame inductees, welcoming 12 new members into the CQ Amateur Radio Hall of Fame - ranging from a champion telegrapher to a Cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church - and one new member each into the CQ DX Hall of Fame and the CQ Contest Hall of Fame. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the CQ Contest Hall of Fame and the tenth anniversary of the CQ Amateur Radio Hall of Fame (The CQ DX Hall of Fame is the oldest of the three, honoring the world's top DXers since 1967).

The CQ Amateur Radio Hall of Fame honors those individuals, whether licensed hams or not, who have made significant contributions to amateur radio; and those amateurs who have made significant contributions either to amateur radio, to their professional careers or to some other aspect of life on our planet. The 2011 inductees (listed alphabetically) are:

* Bell, Dave, W6AQ - Hollywood TV/film producer; deeply involved in producing multiple amateur radio promotional videos over several decades.

* Brightman, Nate, K6OSC - the 'spark' behind W6RO, the ham station aboard the Queen Mary in Long Beach, California.

* Ensor, Loretta, W9UA (SK) - On-air instructor in Morse code and radio fundamentals between 1929 and 1941, responsible (with her brother) for helping to get at least 900 new amateurs licensed.

* Gunderson, Bob, W2JIO (SK) - Blind ham who was Editor and Publisher of 'The Braille Technical Press;' and the 'answer man' at Hudson Radio on New York's Radio Row, where he worked three days a week as a technical advisor and consultant for the customers.

* Mahony, Cardinal Roger, W6QYI - Archbishop Emeritus of Los Angeles, advocate for immigration reform.

* Margolis, Sylvia (no call) (SK) - Prolific CQ humor writer in the 1960s and early '70s; first public relations officer for Radio Society of Great Britain.

* McElroy, Ted (no call) (SK) - World champion radiotelegrapher and key manufacturer.

* Moorefield, Ron, W8ILC - One of the guiding lights of the Dayton Ham- vention® for at least the past 30 years; national ham radio coordinator for the cross-country 1984 Olympic Torch Relay.

* Raff, Malcolm, WA2UNP (SK) - Astrophysicist, aerospace engineer and biotechnologist; developed some of the earliest DNA sequencing tech- niques and contributed software to the human genome project.

* Schmieder, Robert, KK6EK - Noted DXer and DXpeditioner, physicist and ecologist.

* Stodola, E. King, W2AXO (SK) - The 'father' of EME (Earth-Moon-Earth) communications.

* Taflove, Allen, WA9JLV - Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Northwestern University and a leading authority in the field of computational electrodynamics.

CQ Contest and DX Halls of Fame
The CQ Contest and DX Halls of Fame honor those amateurs who not only excel in personal performance in these major areas of amateur radio but who also 'give back' to the hobby in outstanding ways.

The 2011 inductee to the CQ Contest Hall of Fame is:
* John Sluymer, VE3EJ - John has been an active contester and DXer since 1973. He is a founding member and current president of Contest Club Ontario, which has grown from 16 to 250 members in less than a decade. John also holds numerous Canadian domestic and DX contest records, is a frequent host for single- and multi-op contest operations from his station; a longtime member of the CQ WW Contest Committee, and a frequent speaker at hamfest forums and club meetings.

The 2011 inductee to the CQ DX Hall of Fame is:
* Michael J. McGirr, K9AJ - Mike is a leading DXpeditioner who has operated literally from the ends of the Earth over nearly 30 years. His many radio journeys have ranged from an Arctic expedition to Nunavut to Heard Island, off the coast of Antarctica, and a variety of places in between, including islands in the Indian Ocean, Caribbean and South Pacific. Mike is also a director of the Island Radio Expedition Foundation (IREF) and 2010 recipient of the W9DXCC Award of Excellence in DXing.

Formal inductions to the CQ Contest and DX Halls of Fame were scheduled for the Dayton Hamvention.®"

CY0 QSL STATUS. Randy, N0TG, reports, "Yes, CY0 QSLs are being sent out everyday. I am limited on time to process due to family medical care- provider responsibilities, but everyday progress is made. If anyone has a truly 'urgent' need, let me know via E-mail. LoTW later."

NOT THE QSL MANAGER. Bill, W9OL, reports that he still continues to receive QSL cards for Adrian, YO3APJ. He states, "I do not have logs for YO3APJ, nor authorization to confirm his QSOs. I've posted/informed many of the QSL Manager lists, but I still get QSLs for Adrian via the Bureau which I forward to him." Adrian, YO3APJ, assumed his own QSLing a few years back.

P40L NEW QSL MANAGER. Erik, K5WW, reports, "Now that P40L is active again I am getting QSL requests and E-mails for/about both old and fairly new QSOs. I haven't been P40L's QSL Manager in a number of years. Those QSL requests will be returned, and the E-mails will be replied to; but please note that the current QSL Manager is WA3FRP." PLEASE see details at:

http://www.qrz.com/db/p40l

TJ9PF QSL STATUS. Maurice, F5NQL, reports, "The QSL cards for the latest TJ9PF activity in Kibri, Cameroon, - February 10-20th, 2011, by the Provins ARC F6KOP team are printed. QSL Manager, Didier, F5OGL, is expecting to get them this week, from the printer. We ask all of you who asked for direct QSL cards, to have a little patience. The labels are printed and the French stamps are purchased; they are ready to be put on the cards and envelopes. So, the first batch will be mailed very soon. It's useless to renew your cards requests, please don't. By the way, know that, as usually for all F6KOP's DXpeditions, the upload on LoTW, is scheduled when all the direct cards and the first Bureau batches have been answered, so allow us some months."

VP8ORK QSL UPDATE (Also, VP8ORK Vibroplex Key on Ebay). Don, N1DG, reports that he mailing another 750 cards from VP8ORK OQRS. He states, "The VP8ORK is raising money by selling an autographed key used on South Orkney on ebay:
