EDITOR'S SPECIAL NOTICE
This week's bulletin was sent out earlier than normal to accommodate the late CQWW WPX CW Contest announcements. Also, we wanted to provide the readers with a consolidated listing of the CQWW WPX CW Contest participants.

SPECIAL NOTE FROM EDITOR (Short Dayton HamVention Wrap-Up By KB8NW)
The Dayton HamVention had a great turnout, but was hampered by bad weather this year. Between the rain and hail, the walk through the flea market was not enjoyable. It seemed that this year there were more vendors in the indoor arena and convention rooms. As always it was still great to see the many DXers from all over the world.

The main thing about Dayton is the special camaraderie I enjoy as well as visiting and talking to the DXers/Contesters of the world. The NODXA Hospitality Suite was a great place to share this camaraderie with well-known DXers.

Anyway, I did miss the DX Dinner Banquet because of my duties to help run the NODXA suite with our hostess Janeen Hire (W8ZET). We did hear, however, that the FT5ZM Amsterdam Island operation did receivw the "SWODXA (SouthWest Ohio DX Association) DXpedition of the Year for 2014". Also, the CQ magazine announced during the banquet its 2014 Hall of Fame inductees, adding two members each to the CQ DX and Contest Halls of Fame, as well as eight new members to the CQ Amateur Radio Hall of Fame. See OPDX.1163 for details.

This year's DX Forum included some great talks on and by:

* T33A Banaba Island - Speaker Jay Garlitz, AA4FL
* VU7AG Lakshadweep Island - Speaker Krish Kanakasapapathi, W4VKU
* FT5ZM Amsterdam Island - Speaker Ralph Fedor, K0IR
* K9W Wake Island - Speaker John Miller, K6MM
Other than the weather, the 2014 Dayton HamVention in all was a great time and experience.

BEST COMMUNICATION AWARD (By DxCoffee & DXUniversity)
PRESS RELEASE [edited]:

TX5K gets the 2013 Best Communication Award -- Our award goes to TX5K, the Dxpedition to Clipperton Island, for the large amount of information given before, during and after the operation on the official website www.tx5k.org and the related blog http://ky6r.com.

The information provided is extremely complete and range on several matters: from the documents describing the project

http://cordell.org/CI/CI_pages/CI_Documents.html,
the equipment, the pilots, the photo gallery. In particular, the very detailed information that had been reported on the blog, let the readers experience every facet of the Dxpedition: from navigation to landing, from the environmental issues to the radio related questions, such as propagation conditions, operating methods for QSO's, operators shifts, etc., and everything has been combined by several photos and videos.

Congratulations to the team leader Robert Schmieder, KK6EK and the “Social Media” supervisor, Rich Holoch, KY6R for constantly keeping the Dxers’ community informed with press releases.

Many other Dxpeditions have made a very good job as far as communication is concerned and they deserve some acknowledgement. We had to limit our- selves to three "special mentions", even though many other Dxpeditions would have deserved to be appointed. The choice was not easy, but our preference goes to:
IA0MZ  Antartica - ia0mz.antartica
5W0M  Western Samoa - 5w0m.hkmann.de
VK9CZ - Cocos Keeling Islands - www.vk9cz.com

Special thanks to DX University for their support in realizing this Award. DX University™. A Guide for DXers and DXpeditioners
