REALTIME BAND CONDITIONS WEB SITE http://www.bandconditions.com:
The purpose of this experimental Web site is to provide 24-7-365 actual (REALTIME) band condition information to CW QRPp, QRPe and CW/SSB for Contesters interested in increasing their scores. It can also be of benefit to other Radio Amateurs to determine band conditions for Nets and casual QSO's. This information is NOT based on any software pre- dictions or any kind of satellite based readings. It is based on a new Ionospheric sounding method called "HF Ionospheric Interferometry" which operates very similarly to the PolSAR system used by NASA.

PW0, FERNANDO DE NORONHA
Martti, OH2BH, sent out the following press release on February 11th [edited]: SCIENCE EXPEDITION TO FERNANDO DE NORONHA, PW0F -- Friday, Feb. 20th through Wednesday, Feb. 25th, 2015 -- Dr. Ville Hiilesmaa, PY2ZEA, and Senior Researcher Martti Laine, OH2BH, on science expedition.

Next week's PW0F operation carries major scientific value, which may result in some sporadic and unexpected appearance and/or sudden dis- appearance of the signal. The essence of the study is taking two ladies to a somewhat remote island and putting their psychological stability to the test while left idling in the absence of two men running the ARRL DX Contest. Depending on the intermediate results the ladies minds may be further be challenged by testing the effect of other radio fre- quencies outside of the contest frequency spectrum. The results will be distributed on their science paper QSL card via OH2BH.

Fundraising: We kicked off our fund raising activities on January 18th. We're pleased to report significant contributions from the: Northern California DX Foundation (NCDXF), Oceania DX Group (ODXG), International DX Association (INDEXA), German DX Foundation (GDXF) and the UK DX Foundation (CDXC).

To date we also received support from: Lone Star DX Association, LA DX Group, Mediterraneo DX Club, Danish DX Group, Long Island DX Association, Nippon DX, and the Lynx DX Group. We appreciate these early supporters of the project, and of course, we appreciate the support from our individual donors.

Log Search OQRS Software Project: Our software has been updated with the latest (and final) enhancements with regression testing underway. The user interface will look familiar to anyone that has ever used an OQRS application. The QSL management back end functions are working as designed and will significantly reduce the labor associated with pro- cessing OQRS, Direct and Buro requests, including LoTW. We have a list of additional enhancements that will be considered after the TX3X project.

Chesterfield Islands Most wanted Position -- Chesterfield Islands were bumped to Number 23 Most Wanted in Clublog.

Misc: Freight forwarding firms and customs brokers have been identified and contacted. We also connected with a Carnet firm that will process the mandatory detailed and complex paperwork when shipping internationally.

V6, MICRONESIA (Reminder)
Madison, W5MJ, will once again be active as V63MJ from a new location, Kosrae Island (OC-059), between February 16-24th. Activity will be on 160-10 meters CW only using a K3 and KPA500 amp. QSL via his home callsign.

V6, MICRONESIA
Ken, JR1JYR, will be active as V63JYR from Phonpei, Federated State of Micronesia (OC-010), between March 5-11th. Activity will be on 20-10 meters (including 17/12m) using mainly CW, SSB and the Digital modes. QSL via JR1JYR or LoTW.

V6, MICRONESIA (Update)
Operators Keith/GM4YXI (GM5X) and Chris/GM3WOJ (GM2V) will be active as V6Z from Blue Lagoon Resort on Chuuk Island (OC-011) between March 27th and April 9th. Activity will be on 80-10 meters (possibly 160m, but no 60m) using CW and SSB. They plan on being in the CQWW WPX SSB Contest (March 28-29th). However, it is unlikely to be a serious effort because they will still be trying to get antennas erected over that weekend and generally getting into full DXpedition mode. Keith states,

"As with our previous efforts (ZK2X, ZK2V, VK9CZ, A35X, A35V), the two of us will be QRV as much as possible. Antennas will be vertical Moxon beams on 10-20m and verticals on 30-80m. The QTH looks as if it should permit us erecting antennas close to the beach but the location is ‘untried’ so we will know more when we get there."
Look for the logs to be uploaded daily to LoTW, as well as possibly real-time logging to ClubLog if the Internet access is good. QSL via N2SL. A website is under construction and should be more developed over the next couple of weeks at:
http://www.v6z2015.com

Harald, DF2WO, will once again be active as XT2AW from Ouagadougou between May 20th and June 25th. Activity will be holiday style on CW and SSB. QSL via M0OXO.
