CE0X, SAN FELIX (Update/DXpedition 2017). The following was posted on
on August 29th: An update by CE5WQO -- After my experience in
CE0Z Juan Fernandez Isl 2014 as CE0Z/CE5WQO I decided to make all efforts
to put another Chilean most wanted ON AIR, so San Félix Isl is on my mind.
A few months ago I announced information of my next activity to CE0X San
Félix Isl. The original idea was a small team of three operators, but after
receive many e-mails from different stations around the world proposing the
idea of forming a large Team, I have been in contact with some US stations
to make this possible.
After hard work in The Chilean Ministry of Telecommunication and The Navy,
authorizations and permissions are granted for now just need to take care
of the logistical details to put this entity on air.
Then came a team of world-renowned operators, with whom I worked with.
Today, the relations with the team are broken, for a lack of trust, and the
lack of support in logistics since most of the work I’ve done myself, and
is easy to receive news at the other side of the desk, while one who makes
efforts and spends money for this project it is one, guess who...
I decided to announce that the team will be only for three operators:
Dima/RA9USU on CW, other operator for Digital/CW, and me on SSB.
We will cover from 160 6 meters in SSB CW RTTY.
I need to confirm that this entity will be on air in 2017, with or without
a large team, and the exact date is still not defined.
My efforts will be for the chance that I have to put this entity on air,
to bring a new entity to many Hams in the world, 14 years have passed
since the last dxpedition, and will pass another 14 years, because this
opportunity must not be wasted, it is very difficult to get these permits
especially for foreigners.
The second press release will include information with more details.
Thanks to all the friends that has send support and friendship to make
this project happen..... Felipe Gutiérrez CE5WQO

Between 9/5 and 9/11, I'll travel from Ohio north to Sault St. Marie and

some Grids may only be operated ONCE. However, I HOPE to work as many folks
as possible that NEED these Grids.... C U Soon, 73, Bob K8BL

PDXG AND UNITED RADIO QSL MANAGEMENT BUREAU (PRESS RELEASE). The following
was sent out on August 29th: The Perseverance DX Group (PDXG)
and the United Radio QSL Management Bureau , owned and operated
by Tim Beaumont, M0URX, have entered into an exclusive relationship for
United Radio and its partner M0OXO Online QSL Request Service operated by
Charles Wilmott, M0OXO, to use PDXG’s QSL Management System. Current,
future and legacy callsigns supported by these firms are included in the
agreement.
Initially intended for our own use we decided to make the application
available to the DX community supported by the United Radio / M0OXO
services. This fully integrated cloud based application allows authorized
users around the world access to a host of QSL management functions. By
dramatically simplifying and automating the process a QSL manager’s work-
load and time commitment are significantly reduced.
To DXers the application presents the familiar functions of Log Search
and OQRS. Busted Call and Not in Log inquires are handled by an integrated
(form) process that greatly reduces the need for e-mails. The application
integrates PayPal donor information with logged QSOs to recognize those
who supported the DX-pedition for expedited confirmation handling. Address
and QSL card label management functions are seamlessly integrated for ease
of use.
Under development for 2 years, the application was introduced during
the TX3X Chesterfield Islands DX-pedition. Many enhancements were added
since TX3X.
To date, Tim has loaded the logs for 140 DX stations, over 2 million
QSOs, Charles will soon begin uploading 150 logs. User feedback has been
very positive.
Questions may be directed to Pista/HA5AO or Gene/K5GS at their QRZ.com
address.

He informs OPDX that he operates from his boat and states, "so I don't
have so much power." He also adds, "I will leave the island by plane and
I will be back at the end of October when I will have more time to work
on the radio. Next country that I will visit will be Colombia and Panama
with the amazing San Blas archipelago." QSL via IZ2LSP or eQSL.

REALTIME BAND CONDITIONS WEB SITE :
The purpose of this experimental Web site is to provide 24-7-365 actual
(REALTIME) band condition information to CW QRPp, QRPe and CW/SSB for
Contesters interested in increasing their scores. It can also be of
benefit to other Radio Amateurs to determine band conditions for Nets
and casual QSO's. This information is NOT based on any software pre-
dictions or any kind of satellite based readings. It is based on a
new Ionospheric sounding method called "HF Ionospheric Interferometry"
which operates very similarly to the PolSAR system used by NASA.

T7, SAN MARIO (Press Release - Three Tower Award). The Amateur Radio
Association of the Republic of San Marino is happy to announce a special
activity from the Three Towers of San Marino, a group of towers located
on the three peaks of Monte Titano in the capital, they are depicted on
both the national flag and coat of arms.
This activation that will be held under the patronage of the Ministry
of Territory and Environment and the Ministry of Tourism and Sport, will
take place in conjunction with a civil protection exercise on September
17th and 18th for 24 hours.
The Three Towers Award is issued in two categories. The Three Towers
Award (Standard) is issued to an amateur radio station submitting proof
of contact with all the 3 towers on 2 bands. The Three Towers Award Honor
Roll is issued to an amateur radio station submitting proof of contact
with all the three towers on three bands.
The stations will be active on only 15, 20 and 40 meters. Three stations
will be activated by the member and supporter of ARRSM from:

Guaita First Tower T71A -- The Guaita is the oldest of the three
towers, and the most famous. It was constructed in the 11th
century and served briefly as a prison. It was rebuilt numerous
times and reached its current form in the 15th century during
the war fought between San Marino and the House of Malatesta.

Cesta Second Tower T71B -- The Cesta is located on the highest of
Monte Titano's summits. A museum to honor Saint Marinus,
created in 1956, is located in this tower and showcases over
1,550 weapons dating from the Medieval Era to the modern day.
It was constructed in the 13th century on the remains of an
           older Roman fort.

Montale Third Tower T71C -- The Montale is located on the smallest of
Monte Titano's summits. Unlike the other towers, this one is
not open to the public. It was constructed in the 14th century.
It is thought to have been constructed to give protection against
the increasing power of the Malatesta family in that region. It
was also used as a prison, and accordingly, the only entrance
to the tower is a door about seven metres from ground level,
which was common for prison architecture of the time.
