3Y0I BOUVET ISLAND DXPEDITION NEWS (NOT Canceled!). The following was
posted on the Rebel DX Group's Web page (https://rebeldxgroup.com) and
the 3Y0I Bouvet Island Web page (https://bouvetoya.org/) :
3Y0I NOT CANCELLED! It's been a rough period for virtually everybody
during the past 2 years. And when looking towards East - seems there's
more to come, unfortunately. Nevertheless, we do not even think about
canceling our plans to activate Bouvet Island - no way! Moreover - we
plan to activate the island this season (2022). Stay tuned!

3Z55, POLAND (Special Callsign). Stefana, SP3CHT, will be using the
3Z55A from Poznan, Poland, to celebrate "the 55th anniversary of broad-
casting from an amateur antenna." QSL via SP3CHT, direct, eQSL or LoTW.

3Z6, POLAND. Krzysztof "Kris", SP6DVP, will be active as 3Z6V from Opole,
Poland, during the CQWW WPX SSB Contest (March 26-27th) as a Single-Op/
All-Band/Low-Power entry. QSL via SP6DVP, direct, by the Bureau or LoTW.

9H6, MALTA (Special Event). John, 9H1CJ (ex-5Z4JC), will be active with
the special callsign 9H6CAP to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the

Sunday bomb attack, April 4-5th, 1942), in Floriana (WW Loc. JM75GV),
Malta, between April 1st and June 30th, QSL via 9H1CJ direct only.

AFRICAN TOUR (Reminder). Look for Don, K6ZO, to travel back to the Comoros
Islands (AF-007) and be active as D60AB between March 16-29th. He plans
to participate in CQWW WPX SSB Contest (March 26-27th). Don will make a
side trip to Mayotte (AF-027), and be active as FH/K6ZO between March
18-23rd. Activity from all locations will probably be on 160-6 meters
using CW, SSB and the Digital modes. QSL all callsigns via his home
callsign direct.

AH2, GUAM. William "BJ", WA7WJR, is currently active as AH2/WA7WJR and
his boat is docked at Agat Marina on the island of Guam. He states on
QRZ.com, " I'll likely stay here (with occasional trips to Saipan and
Tinian and Rota islands of CNMI) until more South Pacific islands reopen
from the pandemic. I will conduct "holiday style" 1-man DXpedition oper-
ations as my time permits. I will primarily operate from (and activate)
Parks On The Air (POTA) K-0762 War in the Pacific National Historic Park,
and also K-0110 Guam National Wildlife Refuge, and a few other beach
locations. My primary operating modes are FT8 and CW. I currently do not
have phone capabilities, but do have a mic on order from Elecraft. I will
upload to LoTW every 3 months or so." Activity recently has been on 20
meters.

AM500, SPAIN (Special Event). Members of the URE San Fernando (EA7URF)
will activate the special callsign AM500TOR between March 19-27th. Activity
is to celebrate the 500th anniversary of the first voyage around the Earth
by the Magellan-Elcano Expedition. "TOR" which refers to the TORnaviaje of
the Nao Victoria; one of the two surviving ships from which they departed
from Seville. Operations will be on the HF, VHF and UHF band and on all
modes (CW/SSB/RTTY/FT8/FT4/PSK/SSTV/DMR/C4FM). They are expected to be
working on satellite too (QO-100 and LEO satellites). QSL via EA7URF (by

DAYLIGHT SAVING TIME (DST). Did you remember to change your clocks?
Countries in the Northern Hemisphere (most of N. American and some of
the Caribbean) who observe Daylight Saving Time should change their
clocks on Sunday, March 13th at 2:00 AM, and should move their "local
clocks" forward 1 hour to 3:00:00 AM local time. Daylight Saving Time
will end on Sunday, November 6th at 2:00 AM. European countries will
switch to DST on March 27th. For the history and details about DST, as
well as an interesting map of the world (showing the countries who observe
DST), see: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daylight_saving_time
                   http://www.timeanddate.com/time/dst/2022.html
ADDED NOTES: Hopefully, all amateur radio operators know not to change
their GMT/UTC/ZULU clocks. However, since most operators usually set their
computers to local time, some may have to change their settings on "some"
ham radio software (ex. logging, propagation, DXTelnet, etc..) programs.

FK, NEW CALEDONIA. Erwann, LB1QI, (a co-leader of the upcoming 3Y0J
Bouvet Island Dxpedition) is now active as FK/LB1QI from Noumea, New
Caledonia (OC-032). The length of his stay is unknown at this time, and
he there on a business trip. Activity will be on various HF bands. He
was heard this past week on 20 meters SSB. QSL via his home callsign,
direct, by the Bureau, eQSL or LoTW.

FUTURE DXPEDITION PLANS. Peter, ON6TT, announces on FaceBook that he and
Mats, SM7PKK, have "A Plan" to sail and operate on a DXpedition in the
future. Details were not provided, but stay tuned!

FY, FRENCH GUIANA. Pierre-Jean "Peter", F4GPK, will be active as FY/F4GPK
until March 17th from Guiana Space Centre also called Europe's Spaceport,
a European spaceport to the northwest corner of Kourou in French Guiana.
He states, "A very nice place to be for doing radio and tourism...
Many thanks to FY5KE's team and especially to Didier, FY5FY, to welcome
me in such incredible conditions." QSL via F4GPK direct or eQSL.

GB2/GB3/GB4, NORTHERN IRELAND. Many people worldwide, annually celebrate
St. Patrick's Day by going green with many amateurs running special event
stations as part of the festivities. "Some of" the special callsigns to
look for are GB2SPD, GB3SPD and GB4SPD. The St. Patrick's Day On The Air
event will run from 1200 UTC on March 16th, until 1200 UTC on March 18th.
Activity will be on all HF bands including 2m and 70cm using SSB and
possibly FT8. QSL via info on QRZ.com. A special award is available.
For more details and a list of world-wide special event stations (42),
see: https://www.stpatricksaward.com

HG200, HUNGARY (Special Event). Look for special event station HG200PS
to be active between March 15th, 2022, and March 15th, 2023, to celebrate
the 200th birthday of Sándor Petofi, one of the greatest Hungarian poets
and a revolutionary who symbolized the Hungarian desire for freedom.
Activity will be on CW, SSB and FT8. QSL via HA8RD, ClubLog or LoTW.

** Thanks to the individuals who put the island/group and mode
(which is very important) on their QSNs on their PacketCluster
reports. The format we suggest is "Mode/IOTA#/Island or Group"
     (ex. CW/SA-036/Aruba).

AS-140. The S21DX team has updated their Web page with new details
and plans at (https://s21dx.org). Excerpts state the following
[edited]: Again we are planning to do more QSO from AS-140
           this December 2022...
             Operators mentioned are Fazlay/S21RC, Manju S21AM, Aminul/S21D,
Omi and possibly others.... For our last year's IOTA AS-140
activation - We had to reduce the number of stations from our
initial planned two to a single HF (as we couldn't manage BPF,
struggled to arrange other essentials like batteries, generators
etc.). This time we started planning early and hope to manage
all the BPF/Telescopic masts and other essential on time.
In 2022, we are planning to activate AS-140 from a different
Island [Island's name will be published once we get approval
from authority]. Planning Three (3) stations, few more better
antennas (Beam, VDA, Beverage), and our loved multiband vertical
with 80m steroid - which was used for the 5000+ qso barefoot.
We are planning to use a linear for SSB Phone if we can buy a
larger 2000VA generator. We will also try to invite more inte-
rested S2 operators if we find with adequate experience (inte-
           rested Bangladeshi HAM. Click here:
                           https://s21dx.org/join-the-team
QSL Policy: Similar to our 2 past IOTA, we will NOT monetize
QSL to fund the DX-pedition. Paper QSL will be handled by our
good friend David, EB7DX, who acts as our QSL Manager for last
15+ years. Please check EB7DX website for more detail about QSL
service. All QSO log also will be uploaded in LoTW and ClubLog
immediately if not during the activation. No need for contri-
bution for LOTW/CLUBLOG confirmation (It's free) - but your
support NOW can help us prepare better which will increase
your chance of having a QSO with us.
Antenna firm and rigs plan (Last update: 1 Mar 2022):
             80m Beverage towards NA/JA 40m VDA
             80-10m (30/15m) 7 Band GP Vertical 20m VDA
             20/15/10m 7 element Beam Towards NA/JA 12m VDA
20/15/10m 3 element Beam Towards EU/AF 3cm Parabolic for SAT
Two digital mode (FT8 Fox/Hound) stations
One SSB Phone station with Linear*.
             * if we can manage a bigger generator.
Budget and Support requirement: The initial estimated budget
is set for 5,000 USDs, among these the operators and volunteers
(so far they bare their own transportation and food cost) will
provide around 2,000 USDs, rest of the 3,000 USDs needed for
the boat charter, aluminum and glass fiber antenna mast, gene-
rator and fuel and we are looking for contribution from HAMs
           around the world.

  EU-095. Operators Fred/F4JDH, Joachim/F4IDX, Maciek/F4VSQ and Dave/
F5SDD will be active as TM5F from Ratonneau Island (DIFM ME003,
DFCF 13-06) between March 19-20th. Activity will be on various
HF bands using CW and SSB. QSL via F5SDD or ClubLog. For more

zation to use the 'EJ' prefix operating from any one of the
offshore Coastal Islands of Ireland." Activity will be on
various HF bands using CW, SSB and some Digital modes (PSK/
RTTY) as well as possibly FM Satellite. QSL via LoTW (Pre-
ferred), by the Bureau and ClubLog's OQRS.

EU-127. Peter, DF6QC, will be active as DA0HEL from Helgoland Island
between March 25th and April 2nd. Activity will be on all
bands/modes and activity on the QO100 satellite. There will
be a side trip to Helgoland Dune signing as DL0IH. For safety
reasons, activity from the Dune will only be between 9:00 a.m.
and 4:00 p.m. QSL via Bureau. QSL via DF6QC, direct or by the
Bureau. NO electronic QSLs; only paper. You can request a QSL
via E-mail (peter@helgo.de) and it will be answered via the
           Bureau.

PLEASE NOTE: Since the Webmasters of the have
decided NOT to post or dedicate a Web page to announce upcoming IOTA
operations, PLEASE send your IOTA operations information to the OPDX,
and we will post it here in an upcoming bulletin......
