3A, MONACO
Patrice, F5RBB, will be active as 3A/F5RBB from September 2-10th. Activity will be on 40/20/15/10 meters SSB. QSL via his home callsign.

3XM, GUINEA (Possible IOTA Ops)
Serge/UA6JR and Alex/RW3AZ will be active again from Boke as 3XM6JR and 3XD2Z, respectively, starting August 29th "for the next few years". Activity will be on 160-6 meters CW, SSB and RTTY, plus PSK and SSTV (3XM6JR). Serge also plans to activate IOTA groups AF-096 and AF-051 during his stay. He will also use the special callsign 3XY3AZ during contest activities. QSL via UA6JR, direct or by the bureau.

5B, CYPRUS (Possibly ZC4!)
Colin, G3VCQ, will be active as 5B/G3VCQ from August 28th to September 6th. Activity will be on all HF bands. Colin may also be active from the U.K. Sov. Base Areas on Cyprus (ZC4) from time to time if a callsign is allocated. QSL via G3VCQ.

5V, TOGO
Robert, 5V7BR, can sometimes be found on 14114 kHz after 0600z. As of June 1st (2006), the QSL Manager for 5V7BR is Gerard, F2VX. QSL cards are "OK" via the bureau or direct.

6W, SENRGAL
Albert, NH7A, will be active as 6W1RY during the CQWW DX SSB Contest (October 28-29th) as a Single-Op/All-Band/High-Power entry. QSL via F5VHJ.

7Q, MALAWI
Ely, IN3VZE, informs OPDX that he will be active as 7Q7CE from the southwest of Lake Malawi starting September 18th and ending October 5th. Activity will be on 80-10 meters. QSL via IN3VZE, direct or via bureau. His address is: Ely Camin, Corso 3 Novembre 136/2, 38100 - Trento - Italy.

9A, CROATIA
Gery, HB9TQF, will be active as 9A8TQF from August 28th to September 6th. Activity will be from Grid Square JN83, probably the exact locator will be JN83BB. Bands of activity were not provided, but he will be CW, SSB and FSK.

CT3, MADEIRA ISLANDS
Kresimir, 9A7K, will stay at Funchal between August 28th and September 4th. During his free time he will visit radio club stations CS3MAD and Jose CT3HG, and will be active as CT3/9A7K from IOTA AF-014. This is the first Croatian amateur radio station active from DXCC entity Madeira and from IOTA AF-014. QSL CT3/9A7K via his home callsign. Visit Kresimir's Web page at:

CU, AZORES
. Jean-Pierre, F8AYU, will be active as CU8/F8AYU from Flores Island (EU-089), September 3-10th. Activity will be 40/20 meters CW/SSB.

DXCC NEWS
Bill Moore, NC1L, ARRL DXCC Branch Manager, sent out the following announcement.

DXCC Accreditation Clarification: Several QSLs for ZL7/KH0PR - Chatham Island (May 2, 2005 - May 5, 2005) were inadvertently rejected. If you have had QSOs rejected at DXCC, you can claim credit by contacting Bill Moore at dxcc@arrl.org.
EA8, CANARY ISLANDS
Operators Valery/RD3AF, Valery/RX3DU and Alexandr/RZ3AZ will be active as EA8AH during the CQWW DX RTTY Contest (September 23-24th) as Multi-2 entry. QSL via RD3A.

EA8, CANARY ISLANDS
Nicolas, F5TGR, will be active as EA8/F5TGR/p from Fuerteventura (AF-004), September 2-16th. Activity will be on 40-10 meters CW/SSB. QSL via his home callsign, direct or by the bureau.

FT/W and FT/X, CROZET AND KERGUELEN ISLANDS (Also 3B8)
By the time you read this, Gildas, TU5KG, may be active (August 27th) for 48 hours (maximum) from Mauritius Island (AF-049) as 3B8/TU5KG during his spare time. Gildas will then travel south for 7 days, but at the moment does not know if his destination will be Crozet Island (FT/W, AF-008) or Kerguelen Island (FT/X, AF-048, DIFO FT-011). Further information should be received in about a week. Note that Gildas returns to France in December. QSL via F4EFI, direct or by the bureau.

GD6, ISLE OF MAN
Chris, GM3WOJ (ZL1CT), will be active as GD6IA during the CQWW DX CW Contest (November 25-26th) as a Single-Op/All-Band/High- Power entry. QSL via GD6IA: GD6IA, PO BOX 1, PEEL CITY, ISLE OF MAN.

HB0, LIECHSTENSTEIN
Operators Andy/DG3XA, Joachim/DH9JK and DL1TX will be active as HB0/DG3XA, HB0/DH9JK and HB0/DL1TX from Augstenberg (2349m ASL and GS JN47), between September 2-9th. Activity will be on HF, 6 and 2 meters. The crew will enter the September IARU-Region 1 Contest. More info is forthcoming.

IOTA NEWS
EU-013. Russell, G5XW, will be active as GJ5XW/p from the Jersey Channel Islands between now and September 1st. Activity will be on all HF bands, SSB only. QSL via G5XW.

EU-017. Walter, IZ3ALU, will be active as ID9/IZ3ALU from Isola Vulcano (IIA ME-018, MIA MI-122, WLOTA LH-1001, WW Loc. JM78MI) between now and September 2nd. Activity will be on 40/20/15 meters SSB, PSK and RTTY. QSL via his home callsign, direct or by the bureau.

EU-038. Holger, DH1AD, will be active as PA/DH1AD from Texel Island (WLOTA LH-0003) from October 9-19th. This will be a holiday-style operation with 100 watts and wire antennas. QSL via his home callsign, the bureau is preferred or direct.

EU-052. Ilario, IV3CGJ, will be active as SV8/IV3CGJ/p from Kefallonia (MIA MG-054, WLOTA LH-0452) between now and September 3rd. Activity will be on 40-10 meters CW. QSL via his home callsign. EU-055. Yogi, DB5YB, will be active as LA/DB5YB from Halsnoy Island between September 1-11th. Activity will limited because he is on holiday, but it will be mostly on 20 meters SSB. EU-120. Members of the Chippenham and District Amateur Radio Club will be active as GB2LI from Lundy Island off the coast of Devon, September 16-21st. They will operate SSB, CW and FM on HF and 2 meters (the generator will be off between 2300 to 0700 local time). Visit their Web page at: http://g3vre.org.uk/ EU-124. Members of the Grantham ARC will be active as GC0GRC/p and GC7GRC/p from Skokholm Island and lighthouse (ARLHS WAL-022, TWLHD WLH GW-013, WLOTA LH-1179, WW Loc. IO71IQ), now through August 29th. Activity will be on 80-10 meters all modes. They plan to have 10-12 operators involved in this activity. All contacts will be confirmed automatically via the bureau. EU-125. Andy, DL4OK, will be active as OZ/NX1S from Roemoe Island, September 9-16th. Activity will be mostly on 40 and 20 meters (mode was not provided). QSL via DL4OK, via bureau is okay. (no e-cards!)

NA-112. Members of Tennessee Valley DX Association (TVDXA) will be active again on yet another mini DXpedition to Emerald Isle (North Carolina) as W4PL between September 27th and October 7th. Activity will be on 80-6 meters including the WARC bands, CW, SSB, RTTY and PSK31. Operators mentioned are: Kenny/AB4GG, Kathy/W4KRY, Greg/WA4NFO, Barbarra/WA4RMC, Tony/W4FOA, Nancy/ K2NAN, Tom/K4VCM, Lynn/K0MAI, Alan/N4HL (and XYL Janet), Charlie/AD4F, Larry/WA4IVO, Howard/KE4MBP (and XYL Carol), Paul/N4LCD (and XYL Lydia), Tommie/K4KWK and Kay/KI4GYS. NA-168. Dennis, WA2USA, will be active as WA2USA/5 from Grand Isle (USI LA-003S), located in Caminada Bay, Jefferson County, Louisiana, between October 19-30th. He will be active during the CQWW SSB DX Contest (October 28-29th), no category given. Activity will be on all bands 80-10 meters before and after the contest. Emphasis will be on 20 meters during the day and 80/40 meters in the evenings. There will be some operations on 30 meters. QSL via his home callsign (QRZ.com).

LN, NORWAY
Look for LN3Z to be active in the 2006 Scandinavian Activity CW Contest (SAC) (September 16-17th) as a Multi-Single entry. QSL via LA9VDA. Details on the contest are available at:

MD0, ISLE OF MAN (EU-116)

NOT THE QSL MANAGER. John, KX7YT, informed OPDX that the June 17, 2002, OPDX Bulletin lists him (KX7YT) as the QSL Manager for S21DM. This is incorrect and he not the QSL Manager. He has unfortunately been getting many of his QSL cards. John was active as S21YV (as well as KX7YT) and has met S21DM while on business in Bangladesh. He tells John that he only QSLs direct. He has NO MANAGER. John is however, the QSL Manager for S21B.

GW3KHZ/P QSL STATUS. Steve, G4EDG, informs OPDX that all direct QSLs sent to G4EDG for the GW3KHZ/P St. Tudwal's Island (EU-106) operation on May 6th have been replied to and sent out August 22nd.

NEW QSL ROUTE. A new QSL Manager has been announced for Morokulien, SJ9WL/LG5LG. For more than 10 years, John, SM5DJZ, has taken care of all the QSLing chores for SJ9WL/LG5LG after the late SM0HUK, who became a Silent Key in 1995. The new QSL Manager for both SJ9WL and LG5LG is now Svenn-Erik Spigseth, LA4EKA, and his address is "OK" on QRZ.com. Cards are welcome via direct and also via the Norwegian QSL Bureau (NRRL). QSL cards that arrive in Sweden will automatically be transfered to LA4EKA. Svenn-Erik will also handle the Morokulien Award. For more info, please visit the WEB page at:

Nilay, TA3YJ, informs OPDX that she sent out QSL cards for TA3J, TA3J/0 (AS-115), TA3J/3, TA3J/4 LH, TA3J/60, TC2K4J, TA3YJ, TA3YJ/4 LH, YM75TA, YM3LZ (WPX2000SSB) and YM3LZ (WAE2000SSB) to the QSL Bureaus of Croatia, Denmark, Germany (R), Greece (R), Italy (R), Netherlands, Russia, Spain (R), Ukraine and United Kingdom (R) direct August 22nd. (R: Registered Mail). She has also sent out all direct QSL cards for TA3J/0 (AS-115) on August 22nd. PLEASE NOTE: TA3J didn't operate from Croatia. 9A/TA3J is a pirate station.

S7, SEYCHELLES
Claudio, IZ0KRC, will be on holiday and will be active as S79RC from September 3-16th. He plans to activate a few islands in the Seychelles group (AF-024). Islands mentioned are: Mahe, Praslin and La Digue. QSL via IK0PRP, direct or by the bureau.

SPECIAL EVENT (IOTA Op)
As part of the 2006 Orkney International Science Festiva, special event station GB1H will be active from September 7-10th from the Isle of Stronsay (IOSA OR-08, SCOTIA OI-18), Orkney Islands (EU-009). Members of the Orkney Amateur Radio Club will be assisting with a special event station powered entirely by hydrogen gas. This amateur radio station is believed to be one of the first ever to use this form of power, certainly within the United Kingdom. To celebrate the fact that this is the first known station to use hydrogen power (from the UK), OFCOM has kindly agreed for them to use the abbreviated callsign GB1H ("H"; being the chemical symbol for hydrogen). QSL direct to MM3LQK: William Caithness, Bayview, Stronsay, Orkney Islands, United Kingdom. The logs will be uploaded to LoTW and also e-QSL.

SPECIAL EVENTS (Japan)
Look for the following special event stations to be active during the next two months on all bands and modes. QSL via the JARL Bureau.

8J1H - Activity will be between September 1st and October 10th to celebrate the 90th anniversary of Hachioji City.

8J3R - Activity will be between September 1st and October 31st to celebrate the 5th Anniversary of Ritto City.

8J4HAM - Activity will be between September 1st and October 1st to celebrate the Hamfesta Kasaoka.

8N1I - Activity will be between September 1st and October 9th to celebrate the 18th All Japan Shogai (or Lifetime) Gakushu (or Learning) Festival in Ibaraki

TM4, FRANCE
Operators Jean-Paul/F6FYA, Jean/F6EKS, Marc/F6EMT, Florent/ F5CWU, Beatrice/F5MYT, Genevieve/F5SQM, Rafik/F5CQ, Thierry/F5MOO and Sylvain/F4EGD will use the special contest callsign TM4Q during the CQWW DX CW Contest (November 25-26th) as a Multi-Single entry. QSL via F6FYA.

V2, ANTIGUA
Bud, AA3B, will be active as V26K between November 22-27th. His activity includes the CQ WW CW Contest (November 25-26th) as a Single- Op/All-Band/Low-Power entry. This will be an all CW operation on the contest HF bands only. Please QSL via AA3B.

VK, AUSTRALIA (IOTA/Lighthouse Ops)
Just a reminder that Wade/AA8LL and Liz/K8LIZ are planning to be operating "holiday style" later this week rom the following islands and lighthouses:

September 1-4th - Look for VK7AAH/5 and VK7AED/5 from the Cape du Couedic Lighthouse (AUS-030) on Kangaroo Island (OC-139).
September 5-6th - Look for VK7AAH and VK7AED from the Cape Bruny Lighthouse (AUS-254) on South Bruny Island (OC-233).
September 7-10th - Look for VK7AAH and VK7AED from Tasmania (OC-006, main island).
Casual operations will be with 100 watts and wire antennas on SSB and CW (possibly RTTY) on 40-15 meters; IOTA frequencies. QSL direct or by the Bureau: VK7AAH via AA8LL and VK7AED via K8LIZ. The address is correct on (QRZ.com) and cards for both may go in the same envelope.

WP3, PUERTO RICO
