JOIN OH2BH 60TH BIRTHDAY ON THE AIR!
Jarmo, OH2BN, informs OPDX readers in a press release: "Martti J. Laine, OH2BH, has provided an abundance of on-the-air pleasure to Amateur Radio operators the world over by serving rare countries and exciting prefixes for several decades. He is up to celebrating his 60th birthday among his friends. Since his friends are scattered in every corner of the world, this new unique concept is presented.
You just dress up for the occasion, switch on your radio, and you will find yourself at the most thrilling birthday party ever. Welcome on board! The event will commence November 18th at 0000 UTC and run for 48 hours until November 19th, 2006, 2359 UTC - the 19th being the actual birthday. It will run on CW and SSB simultaneously, on frequencies .025 and .225, such as 14.025 and 14.225 with powerful 4O60BH stations from a 600-meter high mountain perch overlooking the beautiful Kotor Bay in the fledgling Republic of Montenegro. The radio operations are led by Ranko, YT6A, and Dragan, YT6Y and others from near and far.
But that's not all; you can pass your birthday wishes personally on radio since you may get an appointment at the time of your choice for 14.225 kHz by sending a request to email@example.com The birthday party station will then call you at that exact minute. You can also send your birthday greetings through firstname.lastname@example.org
But even better - following the procedures of any Asian flavoured birthday party, you can obtain a lottery number for a lucky draw from any of the 4O60BH stations. A lucky draw number can be requested by a new one-time Q-code, QBH. The prizes for the lucky draw will be published next week.
The actual draw will take place at the Monday Dinner Party and the winning number will be published the following day in The Daily DX and other DX publications.
The actual Birthday Reception will be held on Monday, November 20th at 1800 hours at Hotel Vila Aleksandar, Herceg Novi, Montenegro.
QSLs will be via OH2BN and each direct request will be honored by a special stamp released for the occasion.
Just join this new way of partying - making the internet work back-to-
back with Amateur Radio - all on the air - and be part of BH - Birthday
Happiness. See: www.kolumbus.fi/oh2bn/bhday

"I am desperately trying to help DXers by reminding them of the nearness of the cut-off date for the current style of IRC (expires 31/12/2006). I have not managed to get a reminder published on any bulletin since the first information a couple of months ago (ed. that is not actually true Alan; read OPDX.778, October 2nd). I have not yet received a NEW style IRC ... and that worries me! Seven weeks to go and the post office will not accept the present one ... so the DXer loses.
