3B8, MAURITIUS
Armin, DK9PY, will be active as 3B8/DK9PY between July 5-21st. Activity will be CW only on 40/30/20/17/15/12/10 meters. Look for him on 10 kHz from the lower band edges. He states that he has received his license. He might make a side trip for 2 days to Reunion Island (FR) or Rodriguez Island (3B9), but he is not sure yet. He will use a FT857 w/100 watts into dipoles and a longwire. He will have internet access and might announce himself on the DXcluster. No QSL info was given, but probably via his homecall.

5K200, COLOMBIA (Special Event)
Look for "duly authorized" members of the Colombian Radio Amateur Association (LCRA) to activate special event callsign 5K200LR throughout 2010 to celebrate the bicentennial and independence of Colombia. QSOs will be uploaded to LoTW (preferred). Direct QSLs will be handled via HK3LR.

9Q, DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO
By the time you read this Patrick, ON4HIL, will be active (July 5th or 6th) using a special callsign, 9Q50ON, from Kinshasa for one week. The special callsign is to celebrate D.R.C.'s 50th anniversary of independence. Activity will be limited because he is actually on a scouting trip for a larger group of Belgian operators to activate the D.R.C. within a few months. No specific dates have been announced yet. Look for more info and updates to be announced.

9J, ZAMBIA. Katsumi
JF1OKX, will be active as 9J2KK from Lusaka beginning early July and staying until the end of September 2011. Activity will be on 80-6 meters, but concentrating on the Digital modes (PSK31 or 62, RTTY, WSJT and SSTV), with some SSB and CW. QSL via JK1NSR.

C6, BAHAMAS
Kenny, K2KW, will be active as C6ATA between November 20-29th. Activity will be mainly CW on 40 meters and the 30/17/12 meter bands. He will also be in the CQWW DX CW Contest (November 27-28th) as a Single-Op/ Single-Band/Low-Power entry. QSL via WA4WTG.

DXCC NEWS
Bill Moore, NC1L, ARRL Awards Branch Manager, reports that the following operation is approved for DXCC credit:

FT5WO ­ Crozet Island; between December 1, 2008, - November 30, 2009

HA8, HUNGARY (WFF Op)
Look for a youth radio camp to activate the Natural Reserves Pusztaszeri Tk.(HAFF-036) between now and July 9th. They will use the special callsign HA8KID. Other callsigns such as HA8CX/p, HA8DD/p, HA8KW/p and HA8ZE/p will also be active. Activity will be on 80-2 meters using a FT-450. Antennas are: W3DZZ for 80/40/20/15/10m, possibly a 6m vertical dipole, GP for the WARC bands and a short yagi on 2m. The instructors ask patience with the young operators!

IOTA NEWS
AF-004. Luke, SQ9IVD, will be active as EA8/SQ9IVD from Fuerteventura Island (DIE S-006, WLOTA L-0883) between July 19th and August 5th. Activity will be on the HF bands, mostly on CW, using 100 watts and wire antennas. Operations on SSB and RTTY is possible. QSL via his home callsign, direct or by the Bureau. Look for the logs to be uploaded to LoTW.

EU-017. Vanni, IK4RUX, will be active as ID9/IK4RUX from Lipari Island (IIA ME-001) between July 5-15th. Activity will be on the HF bands using SSB. QSL via IK4RUX, direct or by the ARI Bureau.
PLEASE NOTE: During this operation some other reference numbers could be activated which will be valid for the IIA Award, D.C.I. or WAIL-ARLHS awards.

EU-047. Chris, DL4FO, will be active as DL4FO/p from the Island of Spiekeroog (N-008 for the German Islands Award) between July 11-16th. Activity will be QRP only, mainly CW, on all HF bands. QSL via his home callsign, direct or by the Bureau.

EU-057. Joachim, DL5KUD, will once gain be active from Ruegen Island (O-07 for the German Islands Award) during the RSGB IOTA Contest (July 24-25th) as a Single-Op/12H/CW entry. QSL via DL5KUD; bureau is preferred.

EU-114. Frank, PA4N, will be active as MU/PA4N from the Island of Guernsey (WLOTA L-0013) between July 12-19th. Activity will be on 80-10 meters using CW, with the possibility of some 160 or 6 meters and some RTTY and SSB. QSL via his home callsign, by the Bureau or direct.

EU-124. Once again the members of the Strumble Head DX and Contest Group (SHDXCG) are heading over the water to activate the rare Welsh coastal Island of Ramsey. Activity will take place between July 22nd and July 26th or 27th (all dependent on tides) using the club callsign MC0SHL. This trip also takes place during the RSGB IOTA Contest (July 24-25th) where they will be on the air using the club contest callsign MW9W over the weekend. Last year they tried to work as many Asian and Pacific stations as this is the 18th most wanted on the IOTA listings for that area. They will again try to make as many contacts both before and during the contest.

They will have 3 stations using the following equipment: two Elecraft K3 Transceivers, one Yaesu FT2000, two G3TXQ Hexbeams (built by Ant MW0JZE), 80m Dipole, 40m Vertical and three Acom 1000. The team will be using MC0SHL on 17 and 12 meters during the contest to try to give as many contacts on these bands. They will be on the air mostly on SSB, but with some RTTY and CW thrown in.

This year's team includes: Rob/MW0RLJ, Jane (Robs wife), Ant/MW0JZE, Oli/MW0JRX, Tim/M0URX, Chris/ G1VDP and Tony/G4LDL. Sadly, Charles/M0OXO is not joining them but will be acting as a pilot station and will be in contact with the team throughout the trip as they are taking mobile internet so they can get on SKYPE and provided updates on their Web site. EU-146. Danny, ON4ON, will be active as PA/OT7X/P from Schouwen Duiveland, The Netherlands, during the RSGB IOTA Contest (July 24-25th). QSL via ON4ON.

EU-171. Tom, DL4VM, will be active as OZ/DL4VM from Vendsyssel-Thy/ Nordjylland (DIA NJ-001) between September 4-18th. Activity will be on 40/30/15/6 meters using CW and PSK31. QSL via his home callsign, direct or by the Bureau.

EU-176. Peteris, YL2PN, will once again be active as ES0/YL2PN from Ruhnu Island (WLOTA L-4244), Estonia, during the RSGB IOTA Contest (July 24-25th) as a Single-Op/Low-Power/All-Band/Mixed entry. QSL via his home callsign. He hopes to beat his 2008 RSGB IOTA Contest score.

NA-036. Patrick, WD9EWK, will be active as VA7EWK from Vancouver Island (CISA BC001, WLOTA L-0858) through July 11th. Activity will be on several satellites from various locations from several grids. Watch satellites: AO-51, SO-50, AO-27, HO-68, AO-7, FO-29, VO-52, possibly SO-67 if it is back in service. QSL via WD9EWK, direct or by the Bureau. Look for updates on his Web site at:

NA-110. Rich, K3RWN, will be active as K3RWN/4 from the Isle of Palms (USI SC001S, Charleston county) South Carolina) until July 9th. He plans to attempt to operate on several satellites while on the island, especially AO51 and possibly some SSB birds if he has the proper equipment. QSL via his home callsign (QRZ.com).

NA-158. RARE ONE! Look for Mike/AD5A and his two sons, Michael/AB5EB and Jake/KB5SKN to activate Kalgin Island, in the Kenai-Cook Inlet Group in August. This Alaskan island has only been worked by 10% of the IOTA chasers. Activity will take place sometime Friday, August 6th, and they will go QRT mid-afternoon (local time), on Sunday, August 8th. Their plan is to have two stations on the air running 100 watts using two separate callsigns. The CW callsign will be AD5A/KL5 and the SSB callsign will be AB5EB/KL0. The team will be equipped to operate on 6m if the band opens up, but it will not be a priority. QSL route will be announced as soon as it finalized.

OC-142. Operators Peter/VK4FSSB and Andrew/VK4HAM will be active as VK4HAM from Fraser Island (WLOTA L 2976), Queensland State, Australia, between July 23­27th. Ryan, N0OJ, was expected to join them but will not be there for the RSGB IOTA Contest (July 24-25th). Activity will be on 80-10 meters using CW and SSB. QSL via VK4HAM. IS0, SARDINIA (EU-024)
Flaviano, I2MOV, informs OPDX that he will depart for Sardinia on July 13th and be active as IS0/I2MOV from Dolianova, 20 km North from Cagliari (Locator JM49OJ), until the end of September. Activity will be on 40/30/20/17/15/12/10/6 meters using mainly CW. His rig will be an IC706MKIIG into a 7 band vertical antenna and a home-made 50 MHz dipole. Koji, JI1LET, will be active as JI1LET/JD1 from Chichijima Island (AS-031) between July 24-30th. Activity will be on 40-6 meters, CW, SSB and RTTY. QSL via JI1LET by the JARL Bureau or direct.

Chuck, KG9N, will be active as JY6ZZ between July 7-15th. Activity will be mainly CW (bands were not mentioned). QSL via JY6ZZ.

LX, LUXEMBOURG
Philippe, LX2A, informs OPDX to look for LX0HQ to be active again from the Headquaters of the Luxembourg Amateur Radio Society (RL) during the IARU World HF Championship Contest (July 10-11th). They will have ten stations (w/25 operators) active from 2 different locations in Luxembourg: Eschdorf (QTH of LX7I) and Esebuer(QTH of LX0RL). PACIFIC TOUR
Bodo, DL3OCH, will be in the Pacific from the following location and will be using his stateside callsign. Activity will probably be on 40-12 meters (depending on conditions), mostly on CW and possibly some RTTY and PSK31, using an IC-7000 (w/100 watts only) into a vertical antenna. Bodo may also try some 80 meters. His tentative schedule is as follows:

Con, DF4SA, reports that he is NOT the QSL Manager for 7X2ARA. He states, "I am receiving hundreds of QSLs via Bureau and also some direct, but I am NOT the manager. SU, EGYPT
Gab, HA3JB, will once again be active from Cairo between September and November. He has renewed his license as SU/HA3JB. Activity will be on CW, RTTY, SSTV, PSK and some SSB. TK, CORSICA
Charles, F5OWT, will be active as TK0WT between July 4-16th. Activity will be holiday style on SSB using a FT-100 into a R7000 vertical antenna. He will focus on 17 and 12 meters. QSL via his home callsign, direct or by the Bureau.

W1AW/8, UNITED STATES
Members of the Southwest Ohio DX Association (SWODXA) will operate as W1AW/8 during the coming International Amateur Radio Association (IARU) HF Contest (July 10-11th). The club will put 11 stations on the air from 160-10 meters from the members' stations in several southwest Ohio counties.

WRTC NEWS

PRESS RELEASE # 22 (Awards and prizes for HAM radio community world- wide):

" To encourage the HAM radio community worldwide to make contacts with WRTC-2010 participants during the IARU HF Championship Contest the weekend of July 10-11th, 2010, we would like to announce our special awards and prizes program.

WRTC-2010 awards, special plaques, T-shirts and trophies will be issued based upon the following rules:

1. QSO points - All WRTC stations will use distinctive callsigns from the block R30A-R39Z. The same WRTC-2010 station may be worked once on CW and once on SSB on each band (80, 40, 20, 15 and 10m). The WRTC stations will not operate on 160m. - Each confirmed two-way CW or SSB QSO with a WRTC-2010 station counts 1 point.

2. The logs - The WRTC Committee needs as many IARU contest logs as possible to create the QSO data base it will use to cross check the WRTC competitors' logs. We ask all stations working the IARU contest to please send copies of their electronic, Cabrillo formatted logs to logs@wrtc2010.ru or upload them to

http://www.wrtc2010.ru//upload/ no later than 18:00 UTC on Sunday, July 11, 2010, (Note: this is only six hours after the end of the contest). The subject field should contain your contest callsign, e.g., "Subject: RA5AA".

Helsinki, Finland

"The Finnish WRTC 2002 gang in association with Radio Arcala, OH8X will activate four (4) valuable DXCC countries and ITU zones in the IARU HF World Championship, July 10-11, 2010 saluting those in the heat of the race in Moscow and around the world. If you ask them gently, they may even QSY to other bands.

Greenland, OX8XX: Operators Martti/OH2BH, Ville/OH2MM and Pekka/OH2TA together with Jesper, OX3KQ, will be on all bands from Kangerlussuaq on the Greenland Arctic Circle. Outside the contest they will also be active with another station on 17m and 30m. QSL via OH2BH.

Aland Islands, OH0X: Pertti, OH2PM, stands ready to put another X-rated station on from the renowned Brando contest QTH with good IARU scores to boot. Pertti may do both modes just to be more visible and make a serious effort even on 10m. QSL via OH2TA.

Iceland, TF4X: Jouko, OH1RX, together with Thor, TF4M, will put Thor's lineup of rhombics on with an eye and ear to Moscow alongside their salmon fishing. TF, OX and OH0 are a rare catch on the low bands as they stay in total daylight at this time of year. QSL via G3SWH.

Azores, CQ8X: Francisco, CU2DX, will put Radio Arcala's westernmost outpost on SSB on all bands. As he just became a new father, Francisco may handle several chores at once. If you call him father Frank, he may move more easily. QSL via OH2BH.
